We are pleased to invite conference participants to a special excursion to Mittweida University of Applied Sciences on 23 October. The visit offers an opportunity to explore the university’s research and innovation activities, discover its state-of-the-art facilities, and learn more about its work in media, technology, and European collaboration.
The programme will include guided visits to selected laboratories and studios, followed by lunch at the university. For invited VIP guests, the afternoon will feature additional meetings with university leadership and researchers, before continuing to Dresden for a guided city tour.
Please note: Places are limited to 40 people. Participation is contingent on the expression of interest for the excursion via the conference registration form.

Morning (all registered guests)
08:50 – Meeting at Chemnitz Central Station
Please meet in front of the BackWerk shop. We will have somebody to guide there. Tickets for the train to and from Mittweida can be bought at the central station or online (https://www.cvag.de/en/tickets-subscriptions/ticket-purchase

10:00 - 11:30 – Parallel Programme I
Participants will be divided into four groups of approximately 10 people to visit the following facilities:
- Laser Institute
- Virtual Production
- Media and Application Systems
- TV Studio
11:45–12:45 – Lunch
Lunch will be served at the Mensa Spiegelsaal at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. The participation in the afternoon programm is by invitation only. Participants who are not specifically invited to the VIP programme will return to Chemnitz by train at 13:00.
Afternoon (by invitation only)
13:00–14:00 – Parallel Programme II
Invited VIP guests will take part in one of the following sessions:
- Meeting with the Rectorate (6 participants)
- Visit to the EURECA-PRO office and exchange with HSMW researchers (6–9 participants)
14:30 – Departure for Dresden
Transfer to Dresden by HSMW bus, with a maximum capacity of 15 participants.
16:00 – 17:30 – Guided Tour of Dresden
Discover the city’s history and landmarks on a guided tour.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please arrive at Chemnitz Central Station by 08:50 to ensure a timely departure. Places for the train journey and afternoon activities are limited and subject to capacity restrictions. The afternoon programme in Mittweida and the subsequent visit to Dresden are reserved for specifically invited VIP guests.
